Description

This study reports a survey on the implementation of EAP in six universities: UNDIP, UNNES, UNSOED,
UGM, UNY, UNS located in Central Java, Indonesia.The objectives of this study are to see: (1) implementation of
EAP courses; (2) teaching managements of EAP; and (3) needs analysis to improve EAP programs. Using a
survey method and content analysis, this study assigned 120 subjects, reviewed EAP syllabi and textbooks as
sources of data, and in-depth interview to collect data. This study discovered: First, implementation of EAP course
in state universities in Central Java, Indonesia are regular model and EAP model; Second, management of EAP
programs are: study program management.language center management, and self-management; Third, result of
needs analysis suggests EAP model, improving teaching materials that usesreading for academic purposes and
writing for academic English.
